Earlier last week, I made a video called Growing Your Channel with VidIQ where I introduce people to this product and how useful it is. I also showed people how I use it for my own growth and it worked.
Why I Believe in VidIQ?
It helped me with my channel growth in less than two months. It was not miraculous if you’re think it is. They do not promote or campaign for you but they do offer a great tool to use. In this post, I will show you what I mean and if you want to see it visually, click the video above.
There are different price plans for VidIQ but I am currently using the free version, which works just as good. It has the tools that I need to analyze my growth and it’s perfect. Maybe one day, I’ll sign up for the boost plan. If you are interested in knowing more, you can visit by clicking this link: JOIN NOW.
Here is a screenshot of my channel audit as of May 2019. This is the part that I check out a lot. I know. I need to work on it. This part right here shows you which contents you should double down on, meaning this is your aces. These are the videos that are doing very well. What I do with this information is simple. I start to make more videos based on what my audience is viewing. If they like checking out my analytics on different personality types, I will continue making those kinds of videos.
You can also see which video is bringing in subscribers, which one has a high retention rate, and which one has the most engagement and views. The paid account will allow you to see more than your top three so if you are a channel with a lot of videos and subscribers, it is really good to utilize the paid tiers with VidIQ.
You can also see which video has the most watch time, which one holds the average watch time, top retention videos, top playlist, and it also has the option for you to see which video is suggesting your contents. This last section is videos that do not belong to you so you can visit that video and check out their tags in case you see one that is trending. You can also see what type of audience that channel has and why it is recommending you. Cool right?! If they are suggesting you, it means that the audience that this channel has is interested in something that you can provide for them. Utilize that information to grow.
This section helps you understand which one of your video is not doing so well. As you can see, my animal videos are not important to my viewers. Should I continue to upload videos of animals? I guess not! Especially since I lost six subscribers from one video. It’s a video of my friend’s pitbull playing fetching a big stick. There is nothing bad about the video. Maybe the six subscribers hate the idea that I like pitbulls? Meh.
On top, you can see which top search result is bringing people to your channel. Majority of the search is on personality types, which is what my channel started off as. With that knowledge, do you think I should switch up my channel niche now? No. I am still going to work on more analytics for personality types and tutorials on how to grow your channel. That’s what Logical Millennials is all about.
Last but not least, this is my favorite part of the channel audit: the metrics. This tells you how well your channel is received and if there are some issues, VidIQ will let you know. All you have to do is follow the notes under the numbers to make improvement. If you have a lot of videos and you are looking to work on your metric, the channel audit will point you to which video needs to be corrected. While I was rebranding, I had 120 videos so I was like, Oh gosh. This will take all month! With VidIQ, it made it easier so I am thankful for that. Plus it’s free!
There you have it. The channel audit is my favorite tool with VidIQ and I believe it is very useful. You can download the extension for Chrome and the dashboard will appear on your YouTube once you connect it. It becomes your sidekick!
